ArtNet Output Mapping

To be able to play out a video on LED Pixel or for example on LED Tubes or LED stripes, Pixera offers the possibility to play out a screen via Artnet.
This converts the colour information of the individual pixels into colour values and assigns them to an Artnet universe.

This is usually called Artnet Mapping or Artnet Pixel Mapping.

The workflow is shown in the video below:

Common Mistakes

Destination Size

Behaviour: Only one Pixel visible on Output

Immediately after assigning an Artnet mapping, the destination size is set to 1x1 pixel. This is done for safety reasons, as with a 1920x1080 screen and accidental activation of the output, the entire network would be flooded with Artnet. With RGB, that would be 6 220 800 channels.

To resolve this, please set your Destination Size correctly or “Lock to Source Size”

Licence and Test pattern

Behaviour: White flickering or no change of Pixels on the Output

It can easily be overlooked that Artnet pixel mapping also requires an output licence. If it is used beyond the licensed outputs, the watermark will also be displayed on the Artnet mapping, which manifests itself as white flickering or pure white on the Artnet Channels.

This can be checked in the On-Screen Statistic

Test pattern

Behaviour: No change of Pixels on the Output

It can also happen that the test pattern is activated, and you only see static values on the Artnet channels.
