PIXERA's Timeline allows placing, arranging and manipulation of images, 3D objects, audio and video content on Screens and other mapping objects in the Workspace. Multiple timelines can be created and played back simultaneously, and a timeline can be controlled via the transport buttons in the user interface, Cues, Cues on other Timelines or external options like JSON/TCP, HTTP/TCP, Binary/TCP, Art-Net or Avio.
A Timeline's timebase is set in frames per Second, and can be configured in the Timeline settings via the Inspector. PIXERA's timeline synchronization and send/receive capabilities are detailed here: Timecode PIXERA.
The article Timeline User Interface & Navigation provides an overview of how you can interact with the timeline and reveal additional important controls and features.
Timeline Sections
All timelines in PIXERA share the following sections:

1 - Timeline name
Displays the current name of the timeline, and the drop down arrow on the right allows switching between timelines without using the Timelines Tab.
2 - Transport buttons
Clickable controls to allow Timeline Transport with the mouse.
3 - Timecode display
Shows the current Timeline Timecode on the left and time to next cue/wait time on the right.
4 - Timeline tools
Timeline Tools are used to interact with the timeline and the objects it contains. Many are accessible via Shortcuts.
5 - Timeline bar
Timecode represented horizontally allowing, in conjunction with the nowpointer (or playhead), precise arrangement of clips, cues and keyframes over time. Right clicking in the timeline bar shows the Fade to Time context menu: Fade to Cue / Time.
6 - Cue track
Cues can be seen, moved and edited in this section.
7 - Layer section
Contains all the layers in the current timeline and shows the clips arranged on them. Layers can be re-ordered by clicking and dragging up or down on the layer name. Layers on top are rendered in front of the ones below. Additional controls are found using the arrow to the left of the layer's name.
You can also right click here to add layers of multiple types, including: Media Layers, Compositing Layers (Unreal), Data Layers and use layer templates.
For more information on the more advanced layer types, please take a look at these articles: Sending PDTF data to Pixera Control, Unreal Workflows PIXERA Project.
8 - Layer settings scroll bar
Allows scrolling with a click and drag to view all settings in the layer header.
9 - Timeline scroll bar
Allows horizontal scrolling with a click and drag to view all areas of the timeline at the desired zoom level.
Select All
Several useful multi-select options are available in context menu when you right click on the timeline. There are two subtly different options depending on whether you right click in the Cue track.
Select all - Clips area
Select all > Cues and clips: Selects all cues and all clips on the timeline.
Select all > Preceding (Related to Nowpointer) Cues and Clips: Selects all cues and clips to the left of the nowpointer's current position on the timeline.
Select all > Following (Related to Nowpointer) Cues and Clips: Selects all cues and clips to the right of the nowpointer's current position on the timeline.
Select all > Clips: Selects all clips currently on the timeline.
Select all > Preceding (Related to Nowpointer) Clips: Selects all clips on the left of the nowpointer's current position on the timeline.
Select all > Following (Related to Nowpointer) Clips: Selects all Clips to the right of the nowpointer's current position on the timeline.
Select all - Cue track
Right clicking here gives you the same ‘Cues and Clips’ options, but a different set for Cues only, instead of Clips only.
Select all > Cues: Selects all Cues currently on the timeline.
Select all > Preceding (Related to Nowpointer) Cues: Selects all Cues to the left of the nowpointer's current position on the timeline.
Select all > Following (Related to Nowpointer) Cues: Selects all Cues to the right of the nowpointer's current position on the timeline.
Layout Options
The button in the top right corner of the timeline can be used to change how the timeline fits within the GUI. The menu contains Window Pane Management options as well as four preset timeline locations, and the option to detach the Timeline.
When detached, the timeline becomes a floating window that can be moved to different screens. It can be returned by closing the window.
