Bundle Project

Bundling is especially useful when it is unclear how the project assets are organized or when they are stored across multiple locations, as Bundle Project creates a new folder containing the show file and all imported resources, making it easy to transfer or open the project on another system with all required media included; however, if the assets are already stored in a clean and consistent structure, we recommend using Relative Paths instead.

By right-clicking on a folder in the Resources section and selecting “Remove Resources Unused”, PIXERA only bundles those resources that are actually used in the project. This is the most effective way to reduce the file size of the project bundle.

NOTE

“Used resources” refers only to resources that are actually placed on the timeline. Any other imported but unused resources will not be included when this option is selected.

It is also possible to save and open the project bundle on a NAS using an IP address/domain name or on an external SSD.

Tested and supported components (will be preserved in the bundle):

  • Video files
  • Audio files
  • Image files
  • Picture Sequences
  • Test patterns
  • 3D models
  • Notch Blocks
  • Control Modules
  • Unreal Project

Paths

When bundling, the paths are stored relatively, which means that with bundling, the folder structure that is created is also stored in the project, so that components do not have to be replaced in the project file.

Warning

By opening and saving the bundled files, the relative paths are saved again as absolute paths.

Alternatives

Instead of the bundle, the project can also be saved with Relative Paths, which means that the project file can be opened without replacement of assets.
