Routes data from one selected input to a shared output. The input count is configured during setup; the accepted input can be changed at runtime through the selection attribute.

Usage

Use this module to choose which of several data sources may forward data to a shared destination. Each numbered input checks the selection when it is called. Calls to other inputs are ignored; changing the selection does not replay previously received data.

Setup

  1. Set Inputs to the required positive whole number. The export contains five inputs and defaults to 5.
  2. Press Create to rebuild the Inputs folder. Changing Inputs alone does not rebuild it. Rebuilding triggers a Core Reload and should be performed during setup, because it interrupts active operation. Check the node connections after rebuilding.
  3. Connect each source to its numbered action, such as Inputs.input1 or Inputs.input2, and connect output to the shared destination.
  4. Set selection to an existing input number, starting at 1. For example, selection(2, true) accepts data from Inputs.input2. Calling selection() reads the current value; doSet = false also reads without changing it. The exported attribute report is 1.00, while the Lua fallback is 0; explicitly configure the selection before sending data.
  5. Send data to the numbered inputs. Only calls to the selected input are forwarded through output.

Inputs must be a positive whole number. Invalid or missing values produce an error and leave the existing input structure unchanged. If the selection is unset or does not match an existing input number, no input forwards data and no error is logged.

Features

  1. Selects one data source for a shared destination.
  2. Allows the accepted input to be changed through an integer attribute at runtime.
  3. Generates numbered input actions from the configured input count during setup.
  4. Forwards variable-length argument lists and ignores calls from unselected inputs.

Actions

An empty exported parameter type is shown as unspecified. Forwarded node data is described in the Info column; it is not a declared Lua result.

Action Info Input Output
output Forwards the arguments to connected destination actions. ... (unspecified) -
selection Reads or sets the selected input number. val (int), doSet (bool) result (int)
createInputs Hidden setup action used by Create; rebuilds the Inputs folder using Inputs. - -
Inputs FOLDER FOLDER FOLDER
Inputs.input1 Forwards arguments to output only when selection is 1. ... (unspecified) -
Inputs.input2 Forwards arguments to output only when selection is 2. ... (unspecified) -

Inputs.input4 Forwards arguments to output only when selection is 4. ... (unspecified) -
Inputs.input5 Forwards arguments to output only when selection is 5. ... (unspecified) -

The table lists the exported actions. Create regenerates the numbered actions for the configured count.

Changelog

1.0

  • Reject invalid input counts before rebuilding, with an actionable error message.
  • Forward output data without collecting downstream return values.
  • Load configuration through loadAllProperties() and add the Description string type.
