There is a change to the license structure in control in version 25.1
Depending on the control license, a different amount of modules can be used at once.
In the "Gate" license limit is 10, the current count can be seen in the upper left corner of the control node workspace.
Before 25.1
Every module used in the workspace adds one increment to the maximum modules of the respective license.
After 25.1
Only modules that require a connection to outside sources add one increment to the counter of the maximum modules. This means an infinite number of helper modules can be used in control without restrictions.
Here is an example of a module that establish a network connection, the “Pjlink”. The counter will increment if the module is authorized for connections, this can be seen by the symbol in the top right of the module.
In the properties of the module, the checkbox “Allowed for External Connection” can be used to switch the status of the module. This is always activated by default when importing a module.
As soon as a module offers network functionality, it is detected in the licensing.
Warning
Any module using the pixc protocols to achieve a network connection will increment the count. This includes modules made from scratch, as the external connection will be seen by Pixera when the code is added to an action in the module.
States of the module
There are 4 different states when a module is capable of network communication.
- Not Allowed for External Connection (is not detected by license)
- Pending Offline (is detected by license)
The module is allowed to open a connection, but the module is currently not attempting to.
- Pending Online (is detected by license)
In this state, the module repeatedly attempts to establish a connection.
- Online (is detected by license)
Connection is successfully established.
